Sales position involves surveying commercial and residential properties, handling proposal requests from clients, performing site inspections, and identifying tree and plant health care needs. Responsible for developing and maintaining long-term relationships with clients, including consulting with new and existing clients on any tree and/or plant health care concerns. The position involves managing a geographic territory of clients, servicing their needs and consulting the production crews. Must be able to successfully determine proper and realistic sales methods to meet sales goals. Generate new business development through creative marketing techniques and sales promotional materials. Will be experienced with any safety hazards, tree ID & evaluation, Integrated Pest Management, diagnosis of tree or shrub disease and disorders. Must be able to estimate time and cost for crews to perform tree removal, pruning, cabling, and all other tree care services.
Ability to consult crews on written work orders when needed and monitor safety, quality and productivity. Ability to understand job/work detail and correctly diagnose, propose, and price effectively various tree care treatments. Effectively communicate with both internal and external clients in negotiating, proposing, and ensuring client satisfaction in all areas of our service delivery model. Must have the knowledge and familiarity of all competitors within local demographics. Analyze competitor market pricing and make recommendations to management on effective pricing proposals to clients. Will launch various marketing campaigns and sales materials to meet given sales goals. Ability to be a good change agent and positive role model to all employees and crew. Always exhibit positive attitude around company safety culture, vision, and mission. Ability to develop and build excellent rapport with clients and overcome objections easily. Represent company at trade shows, community events, and at industry affiliated seminars.
Requirements:
Arborist Certification
Minimum 3 years of plant and tree service experience
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with both internal and external clients
Proven sales experience where defined sales goals were met within given time periods
Excellent multi-tasking and organizational skills
Advanced knowledge, terms and familiarity of plant health care products, accurate diagnosis, and services
2 or 4 year degree preferred within Arboriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Landscaping or Environmental Design
Must be proficient and effective in pricing and proposal preparation
Will be responsible for accomplishing required sales goals within a given territory assigned
